The evolution of societal norms

Wow, i'm glad i didn't have time to do this before i left for my morning gig, 'cause the radio supplied me with something to talk about.
Apparently, a woman's breasts can be stimulated into producing milk. A woman who is adopting a child is doing so in order to feed the child when she gets it. Awkwardly, she has now discovered that her mother in law is also stimulating hers so that she can help.
During the discussion among the DJs and the callers, there was outrage and disgust over the thought of someone other than birth mother's breast being in a  child's mouth. Finally, a caller reminded everyone that using wet nurses used to be the norm. The response to that was that that's not the way things are done now.

Which is my point.
As society changes, so do the things that are accepted. Slavery was once a norm, in multiple forms. Thank the universe that changed. i'd love to be able to say that bigotry is no longer a norm, but i do thank the universe that we're getting there.

Wow. i thought i had more to say on this. When it comes to me, i'll add it.

Double duty

At this moment, i have two new pages, the old multiply page to check, and facebook. These follow email in my daily routine, since they are facets of my electronic communication. Some mornings i will have time for all of that, some mornings not. Every day is different in my world, and i will attempt to not only convey that in my writings but post different things in each place. So far, so good, but even Rita couldn't keep up with the volume of traffic on her Multiply page. So we'll see what happens.

aaaugh!

So this morning began with lots of issues that needed fixing, from my timesheet through getting these new blog pages together properly, to knowing when and where i was headed this morning. i was late because i didn't get going soon enough to avoid traffic, i had to get more info to resolve the timesheet issue, and i'm slowly finding some of the things i need to put together the set up i'd like. But it was a rough morning.

new beginnings

OK, so i noticed that i've got half a crew here, and others over on Blogster. i had created one over there, and now voila!, am starting here, too.
Most of my contacts here know that i'm not a daily blogger, but i may try to blog more regularly than i've ever done. Over on Blogster, there's a recipe category, so some ongoing discussion of cooking may occur.

Today i'm thankful that Dan and the dogs are home, Pa seems to be acclimating pretty well, and after school classes are gearing back up.
More soon, harmony, keith
